Great Douk Cave

Description

Great Douk Cave (SD 747 770) A simple and fun cave. Step up to the outlet in the wall for the waterfall. The main passage is onwards, but don't forget to peek around the corner to the left to come to a window above the entrance way. Onwards a twist canyon eventually leads to an opening back to the outside before back into darkness. Upwards a little more the streamway cuts under the wall, it is possible to bypass the squeeze in the water by following the path to the right. The meandering streamway eventually widens, but shortens to a crawl. At this point you should take the left at the fork, the right goes on for a little way. Keep crawling in the streamway until a hole in the roof on the left becomes apparent and ascend upwards into a crawl, which eventually eases to a walking height before popping out of the ground at Middle Washfold.
